Challenge
8KBW contact us to overhaul their entire internal IT system, and develop a presence for them on the web. What was important to them was being able to access their case data in a quick and efficient manner, and being able to communicate effectively with their clients.

Intelligence
Our approach here was firstly to take stock of the situation. 8KBW had a basic network, which was only being utilised by 10% of the employees. This needed a complete overhaul. Secondly, it was important to bring every single employee online and create a system that would facilitate improved communications.

Solution
Our solution started by designing a new network infrastructure to cover the chambers, addressing the networking requirements, and identifying the appropriate hardware required.
Once the design was finalised, we acquired the hardware, configured it, and developed the network. The final network was state of the art, utilising wireless technology in part.
For each employee a profile was created on the network, which they could activate by using their unique login id and password. Once logged in, they could access the data that they required. Sensitive data was only available to those with the authorised permissions. Communications were improved by implementing a company wide email solution, as well as print and file solutions (e.g. shared directories, shared printing)
A strong web presence was also created for the chambers, which contained details of the areas of law practised, and the history and experience of all the barristers and other support staff. It is now possible for clients to contact any barrister directly from the 8KBW website.
