Challenge
Reems wanted to be able to carry out all their most important functions, as an online retailer, online. They wanted to use one single application and not have to jump from one application to another. Plus they wanted the application which can grow with them well into the future.

Intelligence
Our strategy was to give them a system which was not only efficient, simple, and powerful but one which would cater to their needs well into the future. We studied what exactly they sell, what they may want to further branch out to in the future, and how they go about selling it in terms of sales, etc. A close look at how they want to keep records of their customers was also required so that a customer section as well as a rewards program could be developed.
One of the most delicate aspects was learning how they wanted to display details of their items. Their previous system allowed them to place tags within the item descriptions which meant that a single incorrect tag or keystroke would mean an item being displayed incorrectly. We strived to understand what they wanted to show of each product and how they intended to do so (image, text, etc.).

Solution
We developed for them a completely new application which not only served as a shopping cart but also catered to inventory management, customer records, sales and promotions, a rewards program, and statistics of customers and sales. The application was developed in ASP so as to allow them to be able to use it on their present hosting which is also a MSWindows based environment.
With regards to the display of items we developed an easy to use and menu driven system so that anyone could add/remove/amend items on their website. No special programming knowledge is required. What makes the system very powerful is that further variables (things like size, color, etc.) can be added later and thus shown with a particular item. So today, for example, color may not be a differentiating factor amongst a particular type of product but it may tomorrow and so when it is the variable can be shown to the buyers.
